What to put on your legs in winter has always been a much debated topic. Since the revolution of 80s style, leggings and whack tights have been all the rage. But we are over it! This year its different. The kitsch and tacky leather looking legging have been replaced by its classic relative, the plain black opaque and the nude stocking. Okay so yes it is boring and can sometimes look a little stale but that is because you are not looking in the right places. Designers have been using the wonderful world of hosiery to complete their winter looks since the early 20th century so we think its time we took a cue from the top and leant towards a more classic wardrobe staple.

Spanx: love them for their security around the butt and tum. Not as expensive but still up there. Available from DJ's.

Basically the moral of the story is don't go cheap if you want to look chic.
