Recently I visited New York and on my first day I made my traditional trip uptown to look at the newly installed S/S 11 Bergdorf Goodman Windows. These window installations are a work of Visual Merchandising art. The Christmas displays are especially magical. This season, window design power duo, David Hoey and Linda Fargo created yet another sophisticated ode to fashion and art. Unfortunately I used my phone camera so these images do no justice. The windows this season were very sculptural and were predominately linear designs. The monochromatic background was juxtaposed by the inclusion of pop colours from the garments and accessories. I especially loved the rat maze themed window with its miniature shopping trolleys featuring designer shoes. Assouline has just published a retrospective of Hoey and Fargo collaboration over the years. And I am very glad that i invested in a copy of the publication. It is incredible.
