Side Streets of New York..
WITH the sweet island of Manhattan only being 3.7km at its widest (around 14th Street)it's no wonder that one walks practically everywhere here. But you cant be frolicking along the streets in your ballet flats or pistol boots all the time. One must wear appropriate footwear.
CONVERSE /NEW BALANCE / VANS / NIKE / SUPERGA..
We never considered ourselves as "sneaker freakers" maybe the occasional skater girl but all this walking (we're averaging about 6-8km per day) we have had to adapt to the rubber soled life. AND our wardrobes have had to change accordingly. And let us tell you there is a fine line between looking chic and looking like you are channeling Ellen DeGen.
we tend to wear our New Balance "M574s" with black leather leggings and a black T shirt
our array of Converse "Chuck Taylors" (in canvas - black, gray, red, all white ect) can be paired with sass&bide leopard jeans or any kind of denim and dresses
our Nike "Free Run +2s" in all black are being shipped and we will wear with black leather leggings or Nike leggings.
our Vans "authentics" in neon pink, blue, and black only really work with jeans and denim cut offs at the moment (channeling too much Avril Lavigne never a good thing)
our Supergas in navy and soon to be khakis, baby pink and yellow work well with cord/denim skirts and with jeans, they priss everything up a bit which can be good.
Nearly officially "sneaker freakers" we want...
Vans "Authentics" studded :-) |
Vans "skaters" black suede $60 |
Converse "Chuck Taylors" high tops all white canvass $45 |
Converse "Chuck Taylors" black canvass $45 |
New Balance "M574s" $80 |
Vans "Authentics" in neon pink $45 |
**The
pending London Olympics has given way for the obvious sports-luxe
trend and making it easier for the sneaker way of life but please do not
think it is acceptable to wear training shoes with jeans or
corporate wear..
